Current Projects

Sashar Zarif Dance Theatre will be on its fall 2008 European Tour
in Prague November 29th to December 6th.

 

The tour will stage the acclaimed dance work Meeting with Saghi

Meeting with Saghi is a blend of ritualistic and traditional dance forms inspired by the mysterious Caucasus Mountains, the tall standing cypress trees of Shiraz, and the desert nomads of Central Asia. Meeting with Saghi is showcasing the constructed dance of Saghi by Sashar Zarif performed to original music composed by Pirouz Yousefian.

Also on the programme are two new contemporary works:

ANAR - a solo version performed by Susan Cash

Grief - a new solo peformed by Sashar Zarif

Along with Artistic Director Sashar Zarif,

the touring cast includes guest artists

Susan Cash and Heidi Strauss.

Sashar Zarif receives the 2008
New Pioneers Arts Award

Canadian Organization Skills for Change has named Sashar Zarif the recipient of New Pioneer Award for the Arts 2008 for being an artistic ambassador for multiculturalism and diversity in arts community.
